Birds

My prices are firm.

I feel that my prices are more than fair based on the genetics of my birds, quality of care they receive and quality of life my birds receive. You may be able to find cheaper Parrotlets somewhere, but the breeder is probably skimping in some areas. I have spent a lot of time and money ensurung that my birds are paired in a way that is genetically sound for healthier babies. I have a limited number of babies every year. This allows me to provide quality care, plenty of handling and socialization, and quality of life for my adults and babies.

--Green, Blue, and Turquoise $200
--American (Yellow, White, or Turquoise) $250
--Marble (including American mutations) $300
--Pied adds $25 to above prices
--Fallow adds $50 to above prices

Their chop (vegetables, greens, legumes, fruits, etc.), which they receive daily, consists of mostly organic products, which are healthier but more expensive. They receive sprouts daily. Sprouted seeds are more nutritious than a dry seed mix. They are also provided with good quality, all natural seed mixes for lots of variety. For complete details on their daily diet, refer to the Diet page. Each baby receives lots of individual attention. So you can rest assured that you are getting a quality, healthy, friendly Parrotlet baby.

Purchasing:

***You must talk to me and be approved before purchasing a baby from me.***

A baby isn't considered as being held for you until I have received and accepted a deposit from you. When babies are up for reserve, the first approved person to send a deposit is the person to get that baby.

I accept cash, check and PayPal. For personal checks, I must receive final payment at least one week before pickup/delivery so that it has time to clear my bank.

If you use PayPal, remember to choose the "Send money to family or friends" option or add 3% to your total purchase before sending it.

Checks should be made out to Jessica Horton and mailed to 2292 E Lake Dr NE, Conyers, Ga 30012.

Please add "Payment for baby Parrotlet" in the memo section so that I know what the money is for. If you have a sex and/or color preference, include that in your notes as well.

Once I know the sex, mutation, and quality of each baby, I offer it up for reserve to an approved home. A 50% nonrefundable deposit holds your baby until its ready to go home with you.

The remainder of the balance can be paid either in installments until your baby is weaned and ready to go home with you or can be paid in full when your baby is ready.

If you are paying by check or cashiers check I will need to receive the final payment at least a week before shipping/delivery so the money has time to clear my bank.

Babies must be delivered or shipped within two weeks of being weaned unless we have made prior arrangements. If no prior arrangements have been made and you cannot accept delivery or shipment of your baby within two weeks after your baby is weaned, I reserve the right to place that baby back up for sale. Any money you have paid up to this point will be forfeited. I just do not have the room to house babies any longer than that. Plus, they start to bond soon after weaning.

Once babies begin hatching I will post group videos and group pictures on my Facebook page every few days. As babies reach 12 days old, I will begin daily handling sessions with those babies. I will also begin posting individual photos and videos on my Facebook page at the 12 day old mark. Photo and video updates will be every few days.

I will not allow unweaned babies to leave my aviary, so please don't ask. This is for the welfare of the bird.

Delivery:

For people who are picking up their baby, Parrotlets will be allowed to go to their new homes at approximately 8 weeks of age, even if they are weaned before then; or 1 week after weaning, whichever is the longest.

My aviary is very small. My "breeders" are pets and have their cages in my living room. Because of this, I do not allow people to come to the aviary to pick out/up their baby. I post plenty of pictures and videos on my Facebook page, Little Booger Parrotlets and I am more than happy to email or text videos and/or pictures directly to you.

I will meet you at a public location for you to pick up your baby. Your baby will come with a small travel cage and a package of starter foods.

If we schedule a delivery date, time, and location and you don't show; I will give you one more chance. If you miss the second scheduled meeting, I reserve the right to place that baby back up for sale and any and all money you have paid will be forfeited.

Up to 10 miles - free delivery

Shipping:

I will not ship babies younger than 8 weeks of age.

Shipped anywhere in the U.S. from Atlanta Hartsfield/Jackson International Airport. Fees will vary based on the Airlines current regulations. Fees are currently around $155. You will also have to pay for the shipping crate. Check my "Prices" page for details on the shipping crate.

I ship my babies via Delta or other airlines. This is the preferred shipment method for most bird breeders. I will NOT ship them any other way, so please don't ask. I must put the welfare of each bird before anything else.

I ship only if the weather permits.

Your entire balance must be paid in full before your baby’s shipping date. This includes the purchase price of the bird, the shipping crate, and the shipping fees.
