Chop and Birdie Bread Recipes

Chop Ingredients

**It’s best if you can make your bird’s Chop fresh each day. But, if that isn't practical for you, you can make a big batch, divide it into snack-size baggies, freeze it, then thaw and serve a bag each day.**

Pick 1:
1/4 cup Quinoa (dry measure)
1/4 cup Brown rice (dry measure)
1/4 cup Couscous (dry measure)
1/4 cup Pasta spirals (dry measure)
​1/4 cup oatmeal

Pick 1: (dried NOT canned)
1/4 cup Navy beans (dry measure)
1/4 cup kidney beans (dry measure)
1/4 cup Lima beans (dry measure)
1/4 cup Butter beans (dry measure)
1/4 cup Chickpeas (dry measure)
Etc.

Pick 4:
2 Chili Peppers
1/4 Bell pepper
1/4 cup Broccoli
1/4 cup Cabbage
1/4 cup Corn
1/4 cup Green beans
1/4 cup English peas
1/4 cup Carrots
1/4 cup zucchini (COOKED)
1/4 cup squash (COOKED)
1/4 cup radishes
1/4 cup brussel sprouts
1/4 cup cauliflower
1/4 cup regular potato (COOKED)
​1/4 cup sweet potato (COOKED)

Pick 2:
1/2 small Apple
1/2 small Pear
1/4 cup pineapple
1/4 cup Melon
1/4 cup cantelope

1/4 cup mango
1/4 cup Strawberries

1/4 cup blueberries
1 banana
1 kiwi
1/2 orange
​1/4 cup seedless grapes

Pick 1:
1/2 cup spinach
1/2 cup Kale
1/2 cup Chard
1/2 cup bok choy
1/2 cup Mustard greens

Pick 1:

1/4 cup pine nuts
1/4 cup peanuts
1/4 cup Almonds
1/4 cup pecans, walnuts, etc.

Pick 1:
1/8 cup cilantro flakes
1/8 cup parsley flakes
1/8 cup Chia seeds
1/8 cup flax seed
​1/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
2 eggs


*NO seeds from fruits like apples and pears
*NO Avocados
​*NO onions


1. Sift through then soak the beans.
2. Cook beans plus the Quinoa, brown rice,Couscous or pasta spirals as directed, leaving out any oil or butter if called for in the directions.
3. Boil the egg(s).
4. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly.
5. Finely chop all fruits, vegetables, and pasta.
6. Allow all chopped fruits, vegetables, pasta, and beans to drain thoroughly.
7. Chop the eggs.
8. Mix all ingredients.
9. Separate into individual servings (1 tablespoon per bird) in snack sized baggies.
10. Freeze all baggies.
11. Completely thaw and serve one bag each day.


You can add, subtract, or substitute items as you want, as long as they aren't toxic to birds.
